Leadership quote of the day – 1 March

March 1, 2020 by Mark Atkinson Leave a Comment

Leadership quote featured image - penguins on iceberg.

Be the leader you would follow.””

– Various

Today’s leadership quote is one that’s stuck with me for years, and one that I include every year when hosting my senior readiness workshops. Every one of us can think of a leader we’ve worked with who simply rocks at their job. They’re approachable, great at coaching, empathetic, have time for everyone and somehow still get their work done. Who would’ve thunk?

We don’t need to read leadership books to understand why we enjoy working with/would jump off the ends of the earth for some people. Juniors love them, their bosses love them and their clients love them. You’ve got someone in your mind, don’t you?
Great. Hold that thought, realise what it is that makes them someone you would follow, give it your own twist and go out there and be the best leader you can be.
